I was very pleased to get this visitor.  At the time of the visit, December 2011, there were no recorded sightings of a Broad-billed in Maricopa County.

I photographed the following male and female Broad-billed Hummingbirds in Madera Canyon.

The tail is dark blue with gray at the tips.
